Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Our firm is seeking a full-time Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide oversight, review and management of geotechnical projects of varying complexity; perform and supervise geotechnical analyses and development of recommendations in written reports; provide technical review of reports and proposals prepared by geotechnical staff. Supervise and develop technical skills of less experienced engineers and technicians. Candidate would be located in either our Madison or Milwaukee office, although periodic travel between locations may be necessary.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of work experience practicing geotechnical engineering, preferably within southern Wisconsin.
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited university with a bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical or geological engineering.
  • Possess a Wisconsin Professional Engineer's License in good standing or if licensed by another state apply and be approved by the State of Wisconsin's Reciprocity Program.
  • Must have valid WI driver's license, with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with developing, coordinating and managing geotechnical subsurface exploration scopes and programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with American Association of State Transportation and Highway Officials Load and Resistance Factor Design (AASHTO LRFD) for bridge, box culvert and retaining walls, slope stability analyses, building foundations/deep foundations, soil improvement, and familiarity with geotechnical testing and exploration methods.
  • Prior experience with construction materials testing, particularly foundation subgrade evaluations, subgrade proof-rolling, and deep foundation installations.
  • Master's Degree in geotechnical engineering

Work Week

  • Monday – Friday, typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Minimum 40 hrs/week

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay is based on level of prior experience; $80,000+.

Engineering Technicians
